Northwest Territory turned a fine outing from starter Pepe Valentín into a victory over the Memphis Music at Beaver Town. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Valentín, now 4-2. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Darryl Brady wrapped it up, recording his 10th save.
The Beavers got a big hit from pinch hitter Yen-nien Ku. In the bottom of the seventh, Ku smacked a 3-run home run off Memphis pitcher Danny Hockey. It was his 2nd home run of the season. Suddenly, the Beavers were ahead, 3-2.
In postgame remarks, Ku hailed his team's "mettle."
The third-place Beavers now have a record of 22-15.
