Uruguayans Use Late Score to Top Rhinos, 6-5
The inspired effort of Redwood third baseman Kevin Reed was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Germantown Uruguayans. Reed was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The winner was Carlos Tejeda in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Bob Morton took the loss. The defeat makes Redwood 16-22.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 21-year old left fielder Rafael Valentín had a chance to be the hero. Redwood pitcher Bob Morton had other ideas. But with one out, Valentín hit a sacrifice fly. The Uruguayans had themselves a dramatic win.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Valentín told reporters after the game.
