|
The Amarillo Warheads racked up a win at Ballpark of Albuquerque, bumping off the Germantown Uruguayans, 5-2. Cecil Cornett, who started for Amarillo, pitched effectively for his team. Amarillo, at 22-18, occupies 5th place in the Premier Low A.
The Warheads benefited from an error in the top of the sixth inning. Amarillo was leading 2-0 when Tim Love hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Amarillo in front, 4-0.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Love. "I think we showed that here."
