The Amarillo Warheads had to overcome a good performance from Ogallala pitcher Máximo Espinoza to claim a 3-2 win at Nebraska Aquarium. Espinoza went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Warheads now have a mark of 17-23.
Amarillo used a timely hit from Tom Connibeer to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Warheads ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
After the game, Amarillo manager Armentario Holguin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
