The Crowley Cajuns beat the Hicksville Hounds, 4-1, at Hound Pound. Starting pitcher Robbie Kuhn was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Crowley, with the win, climbs to 13-29.
Crowley used a clutch hit from Al Gross to get the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cajuns ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Hicksville skipper Art Manning, "and it cost us."
