|
Fort Knox beat Beaumont at Ballpark of Baxter, eking out a 4-3 win in 10 innings. The win was due in large part to right fielder Alonso Murillo. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fort Knox reliever Jody Ross picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ron Hansen took the loss. The 5th-place Centennial now sit at 22-21.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Fort Knox left fielder Júlio Campos, facing Ron Hansen, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Centennial the 4-3 win.
"There's no quit in this team," said Centennial manager Michael Malloy.
