The Fort Knox Centennial in 10 innings beat the Memphis Music, 4-1, at The Stage in Memphis. Starting pitcher Juan Castillo was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. Fort Knox reliever Jody Ross picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Yuri Werkman was tagged with the loss. By defeating Memphis, the 4th-place Centennial improved to 25-19.
Fort Knox used a clutch hit from Luis Villarreal to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
In postgame comments, Villarreal said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
