Centennial Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
Tulsa wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher José Marino, falling to the Fort Knox Centennial, 3-2. Marino threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. José Rosales, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. Picking up the save was Ed Dodman, his 5th.
Fort Knox used a timely hit from Logan Unicume to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Unicume said after the game.
Fort Knox is in second place in the Premier Low A with a record of 28-16.
