Redwood got a strong outing from Morie Wada as the Rhinos defeated the Crowley Cajuns, 4-2, at Titans Ballpark. Wada yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-3. Dennis Jones collected save number 9.
Redwood used a well-timed hit by Freddie Washington to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Wada.
The Rhinos, at 32-15, sit in first place in the Premier Low A.
