Late Heroics Net Centennial 7-6 Win
Fort Knox starter Ánibal Machado turned in a competent performance at Ballpark of Baxter as the Centennial beat the Redwood Rhinos, 7-6, in 13 innings. Fort Knox pitcher Shigekazu Abe got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Alexander Cobbledick got the loss. The Centennial saw their record improve to 25-23.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 13th, 21-year old third baseman Alvin Gardner had a chance to be the hero. Redwood pitcher Alexander Cobbledick had other ideas. But with one out, Gardner grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Centennial had themselves a dramatic win.

Gardner told the Fort Knox Daily News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
