Suzuki Homers Twice in 9-4 Beavers Win
|
In the 9-4 Northwest Territory win over Fort Knox, the impact of Kyushichi Suzuki was substantial. Suzuki, who is tied for 4th in the PA- in extra base hits with 22, hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Kiyonaga Kondo, the winner, goes to 8-1. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts over 5.1 innings. The second-place Beavers have won 11 in a row.
With Northwest Territory leading 6-3 in the top of the eighth, Suzuki hit a fastball from Chad Morris for a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Beavers ahead, 9-3.
