Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Fort Knox Centennial and Redwood Rhinos.

Fort Knox got a first-rate effort from pitcher Nick Hensley, who frustrated Redwood hitters en route to a 2-1 Centennial triumph at Ballpark of Baxter. Fort Knox is now 32-18. Redwood is 23-27.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 19-year old third baseman Wally Green had a chance to be the hero. Redwood pitcher Declan Phelps wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Green drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Centennial had themselves a thrilling win.

"Bottom line," said Redwood skipper Robby Long, "we didn't play well enough to win."
