Getting offensive support from Michael Cervantes, the Ogallala Octopi topped the Athletic Club KC U-21, 3-2. Cervantes went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Octopi. Máximo Espinoza, the winner, goes to 2-4. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts over 8 innings. Ogallala now sits in 5th place in the Premier Low A at 24-26.
Ogallala took a 3-2 lead on Wen Lau's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Athletic Club KC pitcher Howard Bass in the bottom of the eighth.
