Liriano Delivers 1-0 Win
|
The Redwood Rhinos picked up a win at The Zoo, downing the Germantown Uruguayans, 1-0. On the mound for Redwood was right-hander Edgar Liriano, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mark Sims wrapped it up, recording his 14th save. The Rhinos win now puts them at 24-28.
The Rhinos liked what they saw from Liriano. The 18-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Uruguayans to no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, and striking out 5.
"Edgar was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Redwood manager Robby Long.
