Uruguayans Rally Late to Nip Beavers
|
The Germantown Uruguayans defeated the Northwest Territory Beavers, 3-2, in USPL Low A action at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Germantown pitcher Zane Wiggins had a standout performance. With the win, Germantown pushed its record to 26-26.
Bailey Sharp was the walk-off hero for Germantown. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Uruguayans designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker.
