Pandas Use Late Surge to Win
|
The inspired effort of Colorado third baseman Yll Januzaj was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-5, to the Montana Pandas. Januzaj hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win went to Gene Greene in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Ron Jewell took the loss. The Pandas, at 14-14, sit in 5th place in the Silver League.
Matt Jenkins, who is tied for 9th in the SL in triples with 1, contributed to the Montana win with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Jenkins told the Montana Herald.
