Estes Lifts Centennial to 3-1 Triumph
|
Fort Knox and Ogallala played a hard-fought contest.
Fort Knox took on Ogallala in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Hubert Estes, in particular, was fantastic. The Fort Knox right-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. Estes got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up 1 hit and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ken Irvin picked up the save for Fort Knox, his 8th of the year.
Fort Knox used the hitting of Rudolf van Kastel to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-0. For the game, van Kastel had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Hubert is good at sticking to his strengths," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
With the win, Fort Knox pushed its record to 34-20.
