The Redwood Rhinos, despite a fine performance by Northwest Territory pitcher Luis Paredes, grabbed a 3-2 win in 11 innings at The Zoo. Paredes allowed 1 run over 5.1 innings. The win went to Bob Morton in relief, making him now 2-3. Culley Porterfield took the loss for Northwest Territory. Northwest Territory is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Redwood. That's when Juan Vásquez hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Andrew Avery to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Redwood skipper Joe Goff.
