Otters Edge Crowley in Pitching Duel
|
Tulsa got a first-rate effort from pitcher Helmer Carlsson, who frustrated Crowley hitters en route to a 1-0 Otters triumph at Ballpark of Hughesville. Carlsson picked up the win for Tulsa, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. Michael Elkins finished to wrap up his 13th save.
Early in the game, shortstop Elton Lafayette had a solo home run for Tulsa. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Otters on top, 1-0.
"Both teams played hard," said Tulsa manager Bob Grzelak.
The Otters move to 25-29 with the win, while the Cajuns drop to 19-35.
