Patriots Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
The Boston Patriots got a magnificent effort from pitcher Iiri Lahti, who kept New Orleans hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Patriots win at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston, now 12-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
Gilberto Silva was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Lahti. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
