Octopi Get Past Hicksville for 4-3 Win
|
The Ogallala Octopi took Hicksville pitcher Willie Silva's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hound Pound. The final score had Ogallala getting past the Hounds, 4-3. Silva went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. The Hounds, now 24-31, have lost 4 straight.
Ogallala used a timely hit from Walter Cox to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Octopi ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Hicksville manager Art Manning. "The effort was great."
