Beavers Snatch Late Win
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers downed the Crowley Cajuns, 3-0, at Titans Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Jesús López had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the PA- with a 8.0 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. Northwest Territory has an impressive 37-18 record.
Northwest Territory used the timely hitting of Patrick McKenty to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beavers on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"My gosh almighty, Jesús was tremendous," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker.
