The Crowley Cajuns could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Casu Marzu into a win. Instead, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish prevailed, 6-5. Marzu threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Terry Campbell, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-6. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 4. The third-place Cajuns now sit at 30-26.
Hyeok Yang had a clutch at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for the Puffer Fish. Coming up with the bases loaded and Plattsburgh trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle.
