Cattlemen Win at Baltimore, 3-1
|
Jack Hammer, the 14th overall pick in the 2051 draft, was locked in. The right-hander led the Ft. Worth Cattlemen to a 3-1 win against the Baltimore Bullets at Baltimore Grounds. Hammer picked up the win for Ft. Worth, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The Cattlemen now own a record of 14-15.
Bill Brown, who is tied for 9th in the SL in doubles with 7, had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Ft. Worth up, 3-1.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson, "I like our chances."
