Big Day for Castro as Liberty U-21 Down Uruguayans, 8-2
Philadelphia designated hitter Fernando Castro contributed significantly to his team's 8-2 win over the Germantown Uruguayans. Castro, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- with a .427 on-base percentage, went 3 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Liberty U-21. Willis Thomas, the winner, improved to 6-4. He held Germantown to 2 runs on 3 hits over 8.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Their 33-24 record puts the Liberty U-21 second in the Premier Low A.
