Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Bethlehem Angel Kitties were eager to watch Hugh Glass square off against Bill Hewlett of the visiting Maine Sea Dogs. In the end, the Angel Kitties won the game, 3-2, with Hugh Glass leading the way. Bethlehem reliever John Reed picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Haico Ulderink absorbed the loss.

Eric McRa was the walk-off hero for Bethlehem. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Angel Kitties pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We busted our tails," said Maine manager Pedro Hernández. "But we came up short."
