3 Bombs for Ed Harris
Friday, August 12th , 2061
Flint Crush third baseman Ed Harris almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 3 runs and had 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Crush to victory. The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish escaped with the win, 4-3, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Harris.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game.
Ed Harris hit a solo-shot off Vern Peña in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Vern Peña in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Vern Peña in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
"When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Flint manager Michael Woodard. "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the USSL Low A. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good USSL Low A hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it."
Harris is swinging at a .271 pace on the year with 8 home runs, 18 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has played in 54 games.

Flint Out of Time, Out of Playoffs
Tuesday, August 9th , 2061
Any hopes of a playoff berth for the Flint Crush this season were already a long shot at best. But even the longshot hopes are now gone, as the team was officially eliminated from playoff contention today.
In their 15 seasons in USSL Low A, the Crush have still yet to qualify for the playoffs.
