The Tijuana Toros put one in the win column with an opening day 7-3 triumph over the Watford City Trash Pandas. The crowd at Toros Ballpark watched José Abonga put on a fine performance. Abonga, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs.

Alfred Ellison had a big 2-run double for the Toros in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tijuana leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Yakamochi Hirano and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Toros ahead, 4-1.

"We've got a great group of guys," Ellison said, "and we're having fun right now."
