Pitcher Bill Griggs was sensational for the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Fort Knox Centennial. Griggs earned the win. Griggs got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Edoardo Consiglio nailed down his 6th save.

Tied up with the Centennial in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Liberty U-21 got a boost from designated hitter Guillermo Rúbio. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Rúbio saw a 0-2 fastball from Elías Negrón and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Philadelphia on top, 1-0.

When asked about his performance after the game, Rúbio said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."

The Liberty U-21 now have a mark of 34-26.
