The Redwood Rhinos got a magnificent performance from pitcher Sung-heun Kim, who muffled the Germantown offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Rhinos win at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Bob Morton earned his 16th save, after closing out the game. Redwood's record now stands at 31-29, placing them 6th in the Premier Low A.
Redwood needed the clutch hitting of César Velásquez to notch the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rhinos on top, 2-1. For the game, Velásquez had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Germantown manager Greg Dixon.
