The Northwest Territory Beavers banked on Jesús López and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Hudsonville hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Beavers. López got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Darryl Brady picked up his 17th save of the season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Beavers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when shortstop Choong-suk Yun hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Neil Snow and made the score 2-0, Beavers. Yun went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Yun, cracking a smile.
Northwest Territory is in second place in the Premier Low A with a record of 39-21.
