Puffer Fish Sneak Past Beavers, 4-3
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish faced a tough opponent in Northwest Territory pitcher Donald Mickey, but still scratched out a win at Plattsburgh Park by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Mickey went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. Pedro Moya picked up the win in relief for Plattsburgh, while Héctor Silva took the loss. The third-place Puffer Fish sport a record of 33-27.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Plattsburgh. That's when Juan Figueroa, who leads the PA- in bases on balls with 41, hit a 2-run home run off Héctor Silva to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Figueroa said in his postgame press conference.
