The Ogallala Octopi inaugurated the 2062 campaign with a disappointing 7-4 loss to the Memphis Music in 10 innings at Nebraska Aquarium. Memphis third baseman Paul Davis had a big impact on the outcome. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Matt Robinson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Clay May was tagged with the loss.

Memphis used a clutch hit from Henry Trommel to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Music ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Davis told the Memphis Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
