Germantown Claims 6-3 Victory
|
Fort Knox right fielder Spottswood Poles had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Poles went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Germantown beat the Centennial, 6-3. The Uruguayans, at 32-30, sit in 7th place in the Premier Low A.
Germantown used a clutch at-bat from Luis Romero to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Romero called the win "a team effort."
