The Memphis Music defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 5-3, in USPL Low A action at Hound Pound. Memphis pitcher Lewis Smith had a standout performance. Smith, now 2-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Getting the save was Charles Covenay, his 6th.

The Music got a big at-bat from right fielder Miguel García. For the game, García went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Memphis a 2-0 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Memphis manager Omar Casteneda.
