Otters Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Marcos Rodríguez gave the Tulsa Otters a rock-solid effort. The Cumana, Venezuela native helped his team defeat the Shady Side Zoomies, 3-2, at Terriers Ballpark. With the win, the Otters have a record of 33-30.
Tulsa used the timely hitting of George Jenkins to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Otters on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Shady Side manager Joey Trifone said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
