Rhinos Win at Fort Knox, 3-2
|
Clint Ellis, who leads the PA- in innings pitched with 105.0, had a strong outing for the Redwood Rhinos against the Fort Knox Centennial at Ballpark of Baxter. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Ellis got the win, improving to 5-7. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Bob Morton was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 20 save opportunities.
Center Fielder Thom Frederick made an impact for Redwood, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Eugene Smith in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Frederick went 1 for 4 with a double.
"Clint did a good job of shutting their lineup down," said Redwood manager Joe Goff.
The win gives Redwood a season record of 34-30.
