Octopi Get 2-1 Win Versus Athletic Club KC
|
The Ogallala Octopi withstood an impressive performance by Athletic Club KC shortstop Martin Ryan to defeat the U-21, 2-1, at Nebraska Aquarium. Ryan went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. The Octopi now have a record of 31-34.
Steef Advocaat drove in one run for Ogallala. The 18-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Juan Pacheco. It was his 38th RBI of the season.
Advocaat said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
