Hicksville second baseman Gene Ladd made his presence felt in the 6-3 Hounds triumph over the Germantown Uruguayans. Ladd went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was David Ramos. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 12 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. Tom McClendon collected save number 7.

Alfonso Martínez was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs against the Uruguayans. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Hicksville in front, 2-1.

"There's ebbs and flows in the season and right now we're just looking to finish strong," said Ladd.

The third-place Hounds now sit at 39-27.
