Watford City Stymied by Athletic Club KC, 2-1

Athletic Club KC got a strong outing from Alberto Rivera as the U-21 defeated the Watford City Trash Pandas, 2-1, at Ballpark of Elkhorn City. In 7.1 innings, Rivera surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Nacho Rivera picked up the save for Athletic Club KC, his 4th of the year.
The Trash Pandas had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the U-21 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old center fielder Rhys Jeffes came to the plate. Jeffes hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Watford City hurler Romain Prigent. It was Jeffes's 9th home run of the year.
"We take it day by day here," said Rivera, "and today was a good one for us."
