Crowley Comes up Empty Against Torres
The Redwood Rhinos did little to support starter Pedro Torres against the Crowley Cajuns, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Cajuns, striking out 6 and surrendering 1 hit. The performance from Torres allowed Redwood to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Pedro, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Torres told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

His record for the year is 4-5 in 16 starts and Torres has a 2.48 ERA.
