Uruguayans Drop Octopi, 2-1

The Germantown Uruguayans claimed a close win over the Ogallala Octopi, due in large part to Gin-fan Dou. The Germantown right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Dou, now 2-9. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 11. After today's action, Germantown sits at 35-36, while Ogallala falls to 26-45.
Germantown first baseman Jorge Ybarra helped the Uruguayans go up, 2-1, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Ybarra hit a run-scoring single off Ogallala pitcher Paul Clark.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Germantown manager Ralph Titus.
