Sea Dogs Win at Germantown, 4-2
|
The Maine Sea Dogs picked up a win at Ballpark of Albuquerque, knocking off the Germantown Uruguayans, 4-2. On the mound for Maine was right-hander Allen Cates, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 6.2 innings, Cates surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Tyrone Williams converted his 1st save in 2 tries.
Maine used the bat of Carlos López to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Maine manager José Rodríguez.
Maine has now won 4 in a row.
