Puffer Fish Use Late Score to Top Rhinos, 6-5
|
Redwood got a terrific game from third baseman Kevin Reed. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Plattsburgh, 6-5. Reed was 4-4 with 4 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Scott Gibbons, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Plattsburgh now has a record of 40-33 with the win.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Plattsburgh left fielder Mauro Moreno, facing Bob Morton, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Puffer Fish the 6-5 win.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Moreno said.
