The Hicksville Hounds trumped the Bompton Baby Lakers, 8-4, at Hound Pound. Hicksville first baseman Charles Beard was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win has Hicksville at 2-0.

Beard contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Hicksville in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Beard took a fastball from Koos Lodder and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Hounds to leap in front, 6-4.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Beard.
