Germantown pitcher Juan Cereando did his part in helping his team beat the Hicksville Hounds, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Fred Rucker was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Ricardo Gamera. The Uruguayans saw their record improve to 31-45.

The Uruguayans got a clutch hit from third baseman Brian Byrd. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Uruguayans.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Byrd told the Germantown Gazette.
