84s Lose By a Run at Mexico City
|
The Mexico City Blue Demons topped the Greenville 84s, 4-3, at Condor Nest. Mexico City third baseman Ed Moss was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Carl McCoy earned the save for Mexico City. Mexico City has now won 3 in a row.
Kenneth Elliott had a big 2-run triple for the Blue Demons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Mexico City leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Seung Kim, who is tied for 5th in the SL in innings pitched with 44.2, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Demons ahead, 4-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Mexico City skipper JJ Hoban. "I can't complain."
