Hicksville second baseman Gene Ladd was sensational. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Redwood beat the Hounds, 8-5, in 10 innings. Redwood reliever Shi-min Sun picked up the win to move to 1-2. Héctor Hernández suffered the loss. Denis Morris finished the game for Redwood and earned his 4th save.

In the top of the tenth, Bartolo García, who is tied for 9th in the PA- in hits with 77, delivered for Redwood. That's when he belted a 3-run home run, putting the Rhinos up, 8-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.

When asked about his performance after the game, García said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."

The Rhinos improved to a lofty 55-23.
