The Amarillo Warheads earned a win at Ballpark of Baxter, stopping the Fort Knox Centennial, 4-1. Starting pitcher Hal Gaines played a big role in his team's success. The winning pitcher was Gaines, now 3-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Amarillo is second in the Premier Low A with a record of 47-31.
Amarillo used the hitting of Willie Nelson to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Warheads on top, 3-1. For the game, Nelson had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
