Redwood Blanks Octopi, Liriano at His Best
The Redwood Rhinos shut out the Ogallala Octopi, 1-0, behind the strong pitching of Edgar Liriano. Liriano surrendered only 5 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 6.

Following the last out, Liriano appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Ogallala manager Félix Cruz, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Liriano's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.

The Octopi skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Rhinos press conference, Liriano confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.

"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Liriano said.

"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Redwood manager Robby Long added.

In 17 starts this year, Liriano has recorded a 7-4 record and a 2.66 ERA.
