Uruguayans Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Interns, 3-2
|
The Germantown Uruguayans had to overcome a fine performance from Capital Hill pitcher Javier Caraballo to grab a 3-2 win at Alouettes Ballpark. Caraballo allowed 1 run over 7.2 innings. Capital Hill has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Germantown used the clutch hitting of John Walker to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Capital Hill manager Vincent Parker.
