Germantown Beats Crowley in 11-Inning Thriller
|
The Germantown Uruguayans faced a tenacious opponent in Crowley pitcher Logan Bowen, but still scratched out a win at Titans Ballpark by a final score of 6-3 in 11 innings. Bowen went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Andy Jones was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Germantown is now 41-38, Crowley 27-52.
Germantown used the hitting of Salvador Sardaneta to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Uruguayans on top, 4-3. For the game, Sardaneta had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Germantown manager Ralph Titus was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
