Otters Win at Home, 5-3
|
Tulsa registered a win at Ballpark of Hughesville by beating the Hicksville Hounds, 5-3. Pitcher Marcos Rodríguez was one reason why the Otters triumphed. Rodríguez got the win, improving to 4-8. He gave up 6 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Bill Young earned the save for Tulsa, his 18th.
António Lópes had a big solo home run for the Otters in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Tulsa leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Gerardo Montoya and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Otters on top, 4-2.
Afterward, Hicksville manager Art Manning said: "We've hit a rough patch."
The losing streak for Hicksville has now reached 5 games.
