Wiesblatt, Uruguayans Too Much for Crossbeaus

Orca Wiesblatt was instrumental in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Beaumont Crossbeaus. The first baseman went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Germantown Uruguayans. Tim George, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Crossbeaus to 1 run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The 7th-place Uruguayans sport a record of 36-43.
Germantown grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Wiesblatt hit a 2-run home run off Gabriel Pérez. His 12th home run of the season put the Uruguayans out in front, 3-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Wiesblatt told the Germantown Today.
